Dear Tony

I wonder if it is possible to add a part to the loads page where you can add comments as on the steel and timber page? There are times when I just need the loads with bending moment and shear force to work out lintel sizes and would like to be able to put some comments/dialogue just underneath to say what lintel is to be used and the capacity compared to the applied loads. I could do it with a separate text page but then the information is on separate pages and not together.

Yes, you can do this already with a text page linked to the loads. Enter the beam loads in the usual way. Add a Project Text page (text entered for each instance) or User Text Page (text from disk file), right click on the page and select 'Link'. Select the beam and check 'Print beam loads before text'. You will then see the usual load data followed by your own text.

The next releases of SuperBeam, ProSteel and EuroBeam (Oct 2011) will include the option to enter load-related notes. For steel and timber beams these will be printed between the loads and steel/timber calculations. If you select 'Print loads only' then the loads and these notes will be printed.
