New to SuperBeam

Dear Tony,

I have just started using your software, and after falling into the trap of entering total loads (as opposed to l/m), I am about to launch into a real job for BR approval.

The trouble is, I have always done cals on paper, and from using (70's) old reference books, and now modern (Structural Mechanics 2006) & the Blue book.

The output looks good, but I find it somewhat awkward to check after I have carried out an operation.
Maybe I need to get used to it?

Generally there is no problem with opting for total load entry - there's an item in the help file that outlines the issues relating to choosing total or dead+live load entry. If your project includes one or beams extending as a cantilever (typically floor joists jettied out to form a landing or balcony), then dead+live is preferable, otherwise it doesn't make much difference.

As to checking, when SuperBeam was first developed the aim was to lay out the calculations much as they would be written out by hand. Is there anything in particular that is causing you problems.
