Having recently received an email notification about the above update, I just downloaded it and found exactly the same problem as with the 4.56a update. That is, the programme immediately crashes when I try to print. So I have again gone back to 4.55d.

I am sorry to hear this. As said before, I cannot replicate this here on any of five computers and several printers. Can you remind me which printer make/model you are using?

My printer is a Samsung SCX-4521F. I may be wrong but I don't feel that the problem directly relates to the type of printer.

Tony - as just notified, I am having exactly the same issue as above...

This happened after the earlier release, I too found that the only way was to go back to the earlier 4.55d version

I have found the printing issue applies to both SuperBeam updates later than 4.55d and ProSteel updates later than 5.34d. We have tried removing ALL heading text from our page header, but the the programmes continue to terminate as soon as the 'print' button is pressed. We have reverted to the earlier issues again which print normally!

This is very much a live issue, though, as said before, the big frustration is not being able to replicate the problem here. I have been testing a new automated bug reporting module and tomorrow hope to make special build versions of SuperBeam and ProSteel incorporating this for those who have this printing problem. Hopefully this will finally nail its cause.

I have offered a new build of ProSteel incorporating MadExcept error handling and reporting to a few users and will look forward to seeing whether this helps identify the underlying problem. The printing code is common to SuperBeam and ProSteel, so a fix in one will fix both. If you are a ProSteel user who has had these printing problems, have not already received an email and would like to try the new version please contact me on support@superbeam.co.uk
