I am a new contributer but a very old fan of SDA and Tony, both SuperBeam & ProSteel.

I am "User 103" - from about 1987 - and well past my sell-by date!

Until recently I simply used to enter a load as "-x" but now get a warning that I cannot start with an operator.

After fiddling around I found that "(-x)" is acceptable but uses an extra 2 spaces!

WHY?

I think this not mentioned in your Latest Information write-ups or have I been blind?

We hardened up the expression parser a few months back and it looks like the special case of an expression starting with '-' (as in negative rather than subtraction) is now being flagged as an error when it shouldn't be. I'll make sure it's fixed in the next release (due first week of August).

This problem is fixed in 4.52f, now available to all registered users with current update cover: download it using the Miscellaneous > Check Website for Updates option within your current copy of SuperBeam
