I know that splices are not going to be avilable with Superbeam.
Does Prosteel and Eurosteel, when it becomes available, have the ability to perform a lateral y-y axis check. I was asked to provide this by an Engineer at Bromley Council recently.

... a lateral y-y axis check. I was asked to provide this by an Engineer at Bromley Council recently.

I'm not quite sure what is meant by this - an assumed notional sideways load on the beam? We don't have this in ProSteel; EuroBeam is currently under development and I am open to what needs to be in it (apart from everything currently in SuperBeam and/or ProSteel). Comments on this from other users would be welcome.

I'd like to see a function to connect multiple beams, specifically 2no. UB / 2 no. UB connections for extensions etc...:D

That'd be vv useful, fingers crossed :)

Going back to the orignal query by Mckinnon, I wonder if the engineer was askng whether you had checked for lateral torsional buckling (LTB) about the y-y axis. This is checked automatically depending on what figure is put in for the effective length. If there is no restraint against LTB then the effective length is L; if there is full restraint then the eff length is zero.
