Hi Tony
The masonry strength calculator only allows the standard compressive strength of units to be used... 2.9, 3.6, 5.2 N/mm˛ etc.
I have a need to use 2.5 and would like to type it in directly. I cannot do this as it returns a factored masonry strength of 0.00
Can you help please?
Cheers
Tom

No, sorry it's not possible. The limiting values are as defined by Tables 2a-h of BS5628-1:2005 and for blocks the lowest strength given is 2.9. We can interpolate between columns to get intermediate values, but not go outside the lowest and highest bounds of each table.

The 2.9 in the current tables is equivalent to the 2.8 figure previously used for Turbo and Solar blocks: the latest test methods return slightly higher strengths for the same materials.

OK Tony
Thanks for the explanation
