All seems to work as you say but I must confess I can't recall seeing this box in text before, though it's familiar enough on beams.

I'll just have to put it down to incipient senility...

Certainly odd. I suppose to be really thorough the welds should be checked to ensure they provide enough longitudinal shear resistance to make the 2 plates act as 1. Surely a bit of 4 inch box...

I wonder if it would be possible to introduce a failsafe of some kind on closing down the text page? I'm thinking of the typical "you're about to close file without saving changes message"...

I do quite a few loft conversions so I am often designing floor joists from first principles. I have found it easiest to simply work with a 1m strip of floor.

Floor load is then 2kN/sqm over 1m...

Hi all

Not sure if I am going mad but doing column calcs in Superbeam today (first time I've done columns for a while) and I'm getting units of "KIP-IN" appearing.

Everything else is metric so...

No dice. Only 1 user on this machine and all other ".sbw"s appear.

Thanks for thought. I had already tried the search on ".sbw" to no avail. Just tried the ".~bw", but no joy on the missing one! I guess this is gremlins 1 engineers 0.

Lost file

Hi users all

This is my first post after 3 years as Superbeam user and I have pretty daft problem.

Simply put I have lost a file. I started it 2 weeks ago and have opened and worked on it...
