Default Strange sections

From a user's email

I have also now noticed, which was not present before, that additional column sections have appeared in the table of section sizes i.e. 203 x 203 x 100, 203 x 203 x 113 and 203 x 203 x 127. When were these introduced?

These sections are among the 21 added to the standard BS range in 2006 by Corus under the name Advance. For more information see http://www.corusgroup.com/en/news/ne...oduces_Advance

If specifying one of these sections for use in a small job it might be prudent to check availability with a local steel stockholder. In most cases the new sections are heavier rolls of existing section families so suitable substitutes might be hard to find if dimensional constraints apply.
