Default Activation key problems?

If your activation key isn't accepted, it's probably because of one of the following:
  1. We've generated a key against a company name and you've entered your own name or vice versa
  2. We have your company name as 'Limited' and you entered 'Ltd' or vice versa
  3. You've entered an email address other than the one we used to generate the key
  4. You've entered an email address when the key data sent to you says Email: Leave blank
  5. The key you've entered has expired: the last three digits, YMM, indicate what releases the key will work on (Y: 9=2009, A=2010, B=2011 ...), so a key ending in A02 will activate a Feb 2010 release, but not a March one. We send you a new key each year when you renew your update cover

And of course it may simply be because you have mistyped something.

A belated update to this thread: Jan 2010 and later key expiry dates are denoted by a year letter, e.g. A03 is March 2010, B02 is Feb 2011.

Keys ending in Axx or greater are not accepted by older releases, so when we email or send you a key we also send one ending in 912 which will be accepted. If you are in this position, enter this key, use the 'Check website for updates' option to download the last 2009 version, install this, enter the Axx or Bxx key, then repeat the update process to get the latest version.
