Default ProSteel 7 End plate connection

When designing the attached endplate connection the software wont allow the end plate to go any lower than the web radius on the same beam.

For this design the end plate should protrude 10mm beyond the bottom of the beam for the weld.

Is there a way to amend the software to allow this to happen

At the moment, no, you can't change this: it follows earlier guidelines which mandated a partial depth plate as a way of delivering a simple (non-moment) connection. On checking the current 'Green Books', they do allow full depth end plates subject to maximum plate thickness limits, so I will look to add this in to a future release.

The crucial thing with simple connections is that the connection must allow the ends of the supported beam to rotate, rather than transmitting a moment into the supporting member.
