having designed a beam (2 timber sections) I can't see the reference to 2 sections (2no 50 x 200 C24) in the printout. The "2no" is missing. Please can anyone tell me how to restore it?

For members like this you can enter the width as 2No 50 or 100 and the program will give the same results (all other factors being equal). Where two members are to be used you should enter the width using the first option as it makes your intentions clear. If it's not been selected automatically, you need to change the number of members to two: this applies a K8 factor of 1.1 to the bending and shear stresses and increases the E-value used and thus reduces the deflection.
There's a more detailed explanation of this on our web page http://www.superbeam.co.uk/beamk8.htm
