Hi,
is there any way of recovering unsaved files?

Sorry, no. When you exit the program or go to open another project, you're asked whether you want to save your current project (if changed) and if you answer 'no' it's discarded.

It would be great if in a newer version there was an autosave feature for when crashes and stuff happens.

There is an Autosave feature, though it won't save data on a crash. Turn it on in Configuration, User Setup - set the interval to something other than 0 (minutes).
