Default Using beam adjacent to chimney breast

Hi Tony,

I've recently done calcs for a loft conversion gable end. All the calcs went thru no problem. The client now wishes to take out the chimney breasts to the rooms below. The neighnouring property has had there chimney breasts out and supported them on gallows, because of this building control say that a beam calculation will have to be done.

my front beam is a 203 x 203 x46UC and the beam adjacent the chimney is a 152 x152 x 37 UC taking the load of the ridge beam via a timber post. If I move the 152 x 152 nearer the party wall so that the chimney breasts sit on the beam, would it be accetable the chimney projects 300mm from the party wall. could I change the beam to a 203 x 203 x 46 to match the front beam
and connection made with the two identical steels
